With the sad state of affairs NJ is in, with regards to budget deficts, corruption, and kinds of fuckedupness, I learn from the latest issue of *News & Briefs* from ANJRPC about  Senate Bill 1304.  I read it, then at the bottom I find this;

Under current law, any person who knowingly possesses a machine gun without being licensed to do so is guilty of a crime of the third degree.  A crime of the third degree is punishable by three to five years imprisonment, a fine of up to $15,000, or both.  Under the provisions of this bill, the person would be guilty of a crime of the second degree.  A crime of the second degree is punishable by five to 10 years imprisonment, a fine of up to $150,000, or both.

Last time I checked, machine guns are already illegal in NJ.  So why the hell are my tax dollars being wasted on this?   Oh, I forgot, it’s to make the citizens of this state think the NJ Government is actually working.
