Mother’s Day Gun Porn

Was in the DC area this weekend for a non gun blogger blog event type thing (got a kick out of the fact that a few people were bummed because a trip to a local gun range to shoot guns was canceled).  Got to see friends, realized certain types of activism can be interchangeable with gun rights activism.  Overall it was interesting, until the Uber Liberals opened there mouths……..wish I brought a case of socks with me, probably would’ve ran out of socks though.  But since I was in the area, and had nothing to do today, I went and checked out the National Firearms Museum.  Specifically wanted to see the *Guns West* exhibit.  Rather interesting selection of Muzzleloaders, very intricate detail on the inlays and engraving.

Anyway, here’s some cheesecake via low rent cell phone camera:

Overall, I thought the museum was interesting, and worth a look if you’re in the area, and it’s free.

I giggled to myself when I spotted NRA HQ’s off of I66, cause it’s gotta be a thorn in the Brady’s, and VPC’s side to see such a big building.  I don’t think the VPC offices are high on the hog, but I wonder about the Brady Bunch…..

Heh. The VPC’s old office used to be right across the street from mine – above a flower shop and a cafe that made a good breakfast sandwich. I never went up to their floor, but it would have been any bland office building. Now, I believe, they have actually gone to a virtual office system. That’s actually very smart on their part, and I wish other non-profits would do the same thing. Most non-profits don’t actually need an office.

I don’t recall the Brady building, but I know the area and they are also just your average office building tenet from the looks of it by their address. But, they are right near the National Women in the Arts Museum which has a fantastic cafe for lunch. Yum!
