A gunfight in my city this morning, so let’s see.
Criminals steal a car from South Carolina. Rob and attempt to kill someone when he comes to work. Allegedly deal drugs. Get in a shootout with JCPD, and sends five of them to the hospital.
And what does my Chief of Police do? Blames the NRA.
“Somebody’s gotta wake up and smell the coffee, and say enough is enough,” Comey said about taking illegal guns off the streets of the community. “Stop being afraid of the NRA, and start being afraid of our own rights.”
I don’t think the NRA is against taking illegal guns off the street there champ.
Funny thing is, pump shotguns which Chief of Police Comey claims to be illegal, are in fact not. The features he speaks of, are only illegal on semi auto shotguns, not on technology that dates back to the 1880′s.
And let’s not forget that Mayor Healy said the NRA is a sworn enemy of Jersey City…..
UPDATE: Surprised I overlooked it, but this linked article also has JC Chief of Police referring to a pump action shotgun, as a *combat weapon*. Really grabbing at the air with ideas that are over 100 years old there buddy. But he’s part of the Healy Machine, I’ve heard him before stating things that could be considers 2A friendly, but this is something along the lines of Bryan Miller, or Josh Sugarmann. Oh, and if it really is a *combat weapon*, when do we get to see the photos?
UPDATE: According to this article, Chief Comey stated that the shotgun in question was stolen in South Carolina. So how is it the NRA’s fault?
UPDATE: NJ News 12 has a video, with a photo of the shotgun in question. Last time I checked, per NJ AWB, pistol grips, and magazine limits only apply to semi auto shotguns. I guess it being stolen is the only way it’s illegal.
UPDATE: Mayor Healy even gets in the act of claiming the need for more gun control. During a press conference, he talks about going to stump for Corzine, and Obama and stressing the need for federal assistance to fight guns.

Our idiot police commissioner did the same thing when we started losing officers in the line of duty. Because, you know, all of these toads are killing cops with legally registered guns with their serial numbers intact. /sarc
