Seems like Jersey City’s Mayor Healy is in hot water again. This time with the Feds, he’s facing corruption charges. Seems like somebody posed as a developer, and donated a bunch of cash to the Healy machine, in so that his development request didn’t get lost at the *bottom* of the pile. The cash was alledgely dispersed amongst various sources, and then found it’s way back to Healy.
But Healy states: I did nothing wrong at anytime
Of course you didn’t. Corruption in NJ, specifically Jersey City, is as American as Apple Pie. So how can one do wrong, if it’s part of day to day life. Jersey City is fully of hustlers.
Let’s quickly review Healy’s bigger past run in’s with the press, and the law. In quick summary;
- In 2004, Healy was photographed drunk and naked on his front porch. When confronted about this by the press, he blew it off by saying he’s diabetic and musta had too much to drink
- In 2006, Healy was drunken stumble bum and got into an altercation with Police. He fought the charges, and claimed false arrest because his 1A right were violated
Honestly, I thought they woulda got him for rum running. Guess they didn’t find the still yet.
Let’s not forget this video promo for his 2009 relection campaign.
And to be clear, I was never a fan of Healy. I wasn’t impressed with him before I even became a gun owner. He’s all about crummy gentrification. What I mean by crummy, instead of fixing up old neighborhoods, and renewing brownstones and such, his machine just comes in, and knocks it all down, and up go ugly buildings. Still going on even though the developers can’t sell the units.
Just read an article this morning in a local paper saying Healy’s councilmen approved knocking down public housing, in the name of progress. And no word if the original occupants can get first dibs when the new housing is available.
But all in the name of progress.
And remember, NJ gun owners, YOU’RE a *potential* criminal because you legally own guns.
