Nah, I’ve seen it before. It’s not something that usually comes up in the press unless it’s some kind of gun control that, when not really understood, non-gun owners might see as related to the safety of a gun (i.e. smart guns, locking guns up). Overwhelmingly, it’s just used by gun controllers. It really hasn’t caught on, so many groups using other terms to try and get something to stick (gun violence prevention, “sensible” gun control, etc.).
