is now the NJ Senate President, who will start his tenure come January.
Remember folks, he’s one of the two NJ Democrats who stood his ground, along with Sen Jeff Van Drew, with regard to NJ’s *One Gun a Month* Bill, and didn’t flip like Sen Fred *One Gun a Month* Madden.
And let’s not forget, that when Bryan Miller threatened a smear campaign after the 2nd NJ Senate hearing on OGaM, Sen Sweeney told Bryan Miller to go right ahead, because he (Sweeney) wasn’t afraid of his $1k donation to his campaign from the NRA.
What does this mean to NJ gun owners? Not sure. Some NJ’an’s refer to Sweeney as a *FUDD*.
Is he a Pro Gun Progressive? Pro Gun Democrat? Pro Gun Liberal????
Guess we’ll learn starting this January.
But this is NJ after all, and the term *Pro Gun* is very subjective.
Realize this, if he, or anybody else does not goosestep to Bryan Miller, than Bryan Miller considers them a balls out, gun toting, blood lusting, jack booted foot soldiering gun lobby, balls up in ya, extremist. Even if they agree with him on 99.9% of his issues.
I never expect to get good, pro-gun reps in this state. I’ll settle for benign neglect.
What with McDonald coming down, and the long fights that’ll come after it, I’m very, very happy that we’ve traded in some anti-gun crusaders for some folks who don’t care much about guns.
