Seems that an online supplier of tactical gear opened a retail shop in a dumpy part of a dumpy city.
So what happens when people find out that there’s gonna be a shop that sells strictly ‘firearms accessories’?
People freak out.
“What kind of place is this? Is this a gun store? If so, I have a real problem with that,” said Odessa Smite, who lives just blocks from First Line Tactical. The mother of three said she had “real problems” with what she saw online.
“If they’re just selling different kinds of holsters and flashlights, I have no problem with that. I don’t like the fact that they’ll be selling knives,”
Nina Lewis, believed First Line Tactical glorified weapons and sent the wrong message to young people.
Well the store did say they would only sell to people who have a NJ FID card, but realistically, they ain’t selling to the neighborhood. So what do people have to say when they hear of the store’s policy?
“My concern is, will there be some employee who doesn’t check? What happens if they get careless? What happens if some friend of a friend comes in wanting to buy something they have no business having? If they’re careful and following the law, then fine. Then I see them like every other business out here. But they better be careful who they sell to, that’s all I can say.”
And of course the local neighborhood organization doesn’t like it either.
Do we need any more proof that NJ sux?

Jersey Cit is the 2nd largest city in NJ and the most culturally diverse on the East Coast. It’s nicknmaes are Wall Street West, Chilltown, the 6th Borough. It’s motto is “Let Jersey Prosper”.
Jersey City’s tourism website is: http://www.destinationjerseycity.com/
PS. Why don’t you try visiting sometime, Sarah Palin, Kim Kardashian, Matthew Broderick, and several other celebrities have been spotted in Jersey City.
While Jersey City does have a few nice things about it, overall, it’s still dumpy and you can cruise jclist.com and find out first hand, but unfortunately it’s run by a corrupt Democrat machine. I just hope Fulop manages to bring real change to this City, and not just put lipstick on a pig.
As for the realtor terms you’ve used, don’t forget Hoboken West, Upper Hoboken (although it’s been debated that that term is meant for Union City) to describe the Heights, and Lower Hoboken for the Hamilton Park area, and even Hoboken South for Van Vorst Park area.
And don’t forget Mike Tyson and his pigeon coup over in the vicinity of The Ringside Lounge.
_____________
“Employees will check to verify that customers who purchase gun paraphernalia have licenses to carry firearms.”
____________
If this is true their market is pretty small, or this reporter doesnt understand the difference between a FID and a License to carry.
I read that too, that would be store policy, in order to make things just a tad bit hostile in Jersey City.
If you actually aren’t familiar with NJ firearms, or are a newbie starting out, you actually interpret NJ law as stating that you need a carry permit to be in possession of your ‘property’ away from your home, until you find the uber small fine print, that goes over the ever so limited exemptions.
But no, in NJ, you only need to possess a FID card in order to purchase firearms, and certain ammunition. You certainly don’t need it to purchase a scope, springs, EMT equipment, or cleaning sply’s. But I wouldn’t put it past some cementheaded member of NJ’s Legislature to introduce a bill mandating that requirement.
From the article: “Just weeks after the city held a gun buyback program to cut down on crime…”. Gee, that’s never worked in any other city in all the years the do-gooders have staged their little media sideshows. Wonder how hard they’re scrambling to skew the statistics to prove their success this time.

I was sad to leave my family and friends when I left NJ. I was sad to leave Rutt’s Hutt, the Allenwood General Store, all the great diners I grew up with, Captain Ed’s down in Point and other fine eating rooms. Beyond that, I was sad to leave all my gunny buddies behind when I moved here to TX where we get to live closer to the America I’d read about for all those years in school. But I don’t miss an ounce of the kind of b.s. like this that stinks up the joint. When I go to places like The Bullet Trap in Plano and Cheaper Than Dirt in Fort Worth, I can’t begin to tell you the joy of embracing our rights! They sell knives in the local gas station that would get one arrested in seconds in NJ…. Yet, our streets aren’t awash with blood!
New Jersey, along with a number of other states up there are going to self-destruct… period…
“…I don’t like the fact that they’ll be selling knives…”
Well, just keep your street-gang-member sons and daughters and your own trailer-park-trash attitude the h*ll outta there, and you’ll have no worries at all, y’know?
As If anybody give a fat rat’s fundament what some bozo named Odessa Smite either likes or doesn’t like…
